The robot won't turn green - Troubleshooting
Work through these in order. They are sorted by how often they turn out to be the cause:
- Reduce the light. Direct sunlight, a bright window or strong overhead light will prevent a green, because everything here is optical. Classic symptom: it goes green while the customer's hand shadows it, then back to yellow when they move their hand away. Close the blind, move away from the window, or dim the room.
- Adjust more finely. The yellow mark is only about 1–2 mm larger than the robot itself, so it genuinely needs patient, millimetre-level nudging. Most customers get the feel for it after one or two attempts.
- Check the battery. If the robot is blinking red, its sensors are weak and it will not calibrate reliably. Charge it by USB for at least an hour, then try again.
- Clear the sensor. Very gently clear any debris from the sensor underneath. This is rare, and more likely on a unit coming back into use after long storage.
- Open "Having troubles?" at the bottom of the onboarding screen, which walks through these same points in-app.
