Pieces collide during setup or play

When pieces collide, the usual cause is how the pieces sit on the board and how clean it is, rather than the game itself.

Dust on the board

A dusty board reduces the grip the robot has when dragging a piece, so it can stop short or push pieces into each other. Clean the board surface and the bases of the pieces regularly.

Pieces not centered

Make sure the pieces are placed as centered as possible on their squares: at the start of the game, and every time you land a piece during a game or a puzzle. A piece left close to the edge of its square is what the robot usually collides with.
