Why does board setup fail?
A setup can fail for two main reasons: a robot failure in the middle of the setup, or a Bluetooth connection / communication failure between the board and the app.
Check the robots
Carefully lift the chessboard, without letting the pieces slide out of position, and look at the robots' lights:
- Blinking yellow means that robot needs to be repositioned on one of the base's corner marks to recalibrate. Once it calibrates, it resumes the game or the setup by itself.
- Blinking red means the battery is too low. Take the robot out and charge it with a USB-C cable, unless it is properly docked. If it is docked, make sure the base is plugged in and that the board is mounted on the base, so the robot keeps charging.
Check the surface
- Keep the board on a rigid, level surface. Dust or a board that is not sitting flat affects how the robots move and read the board.
- Clean the board and the bases of the pieces once in a while.
Then start the setup again from the app. If it keeps failing at the same point, contact our support.
