Setup fails, pieces collide, or the wrong piece is dragged
Work through these in order:
- Check the rim inventory. All 32 pieces plus the extra queens must be placed on the rim exactly as the onboarding video shows: setup depends on knowing the starting inventory.
- Resolve every "?" on the rim. Tap and identify each one manually.
- Clean the board and piece bases, and confirm a rigid, level surface.
- Re-centre the pieces in their squares. Off-centre pieces are the usual cause of the robot dragging the wrong piece or failing to clear a path.
- Retry. If it still fails, collect logs (5 taps, top-right) and escalate. Pathing is actively being refined: collision avoidance during complex knight moves in particular, and a significant board-setup and reset logic improvement is in the pipeline.
